Yes, it seems that Infinity Blade 2, an awesome game, has been crashing up quite the storm lately. Those who can play are giving it awesome reviews, but those who can’t are just frustrated. Not to worry, though, as a fix is on its way. Here’s what a rep from Chair Entertainment, the dev studio behind the game, had to say:
“We’ve discovered an issue with some users who are running Infinity Blade II on iPad 1 and iPod touch devices. We are working to have a fix for this issue ASAP.”
At the moment the problem with the game is causing it to crash when it tries loading the title screen. It did happen for my own first gen iPad running iOS 5.0.1. Apparently many others are having issues with it too on their iPads. And apparently for countless others complaining on iTunes about the problem.
At the moment it is still the top paid app on iTunes with over 850 5-star reviews from players. The one star reviews that are there are pretty much about the crashing issue itself.
Note from the future: If you need some in-game help, or just want to get a ton of money for smooth sailing, be sure to check out the cheats for the game. You’ll be glad you did.
These days gaming apps can be fixed and updated extremely quickly over and over again, so these types of bugs aren’t forever, guys. Keep that in mind during your frustrations. I’m sure it’ll be back up and running with no more crashes very quickly. Infinity Blade II is running just fine for me on my iPhone 4 and my iPad 2, I should mention. Chair also mentioned they’ll be sharing details very soon on how they’ll be dealing with the issue.
For now, though, if you’re currently using an iPad 1 or an iPod Touch then be sure to proceed with caution and try not to pull your hair out. For everyone else, feel free to enjoy the game. I’m tearing it up right now on my phone, actually.
