The Destiny Vex Mythoclast: A Review of this Exotic Fusion Rifle

To much dismay amongst gamers, the Vex Mythoclast is something you can only get inside the Vault of Glass (level 30). You have to beat Atheon to get it, and there’s no guarantee that you’ll get this as your reward. This is a super stylish weapon, and is a fusion rifle that can take down most other weapons in Destiny if you set it up correctly. This gun does Solar damage.

The Destiny Vex Mythoclast Exotic Fusion Rifle

By far one of the strongest primary weapons you can find, this works well when fighting at a medium to close range since the recoil will be easier to handle. There are quite a few great upgrades to choose from, so don’t let yourself get overwhelmed by the awesomeness. One of the things that make this gun stand out the most is that, unlike your typical fusion rifle, you won’t ever have to charge it due to the Timeless Mythoclast perk. Not too shabby at all. A fantastic exotic weapon for doing PvE since it ignores shields, and a great one to have in PvP.

The Vex Mythoclast Downsides

Alright, so there’s really 3 potential issues with this gun. It has a high recoil, a lower range, and not a whole lot of ammo. You’ll definitely encounter some issues with ammo, both with constant reloads and just a lack of it in general. A bit annoying when you’re running through Vault of Glass. The ammo thing isn’t really a big concern for PvP, though. What is an issue when it comes to PvP, unfortunately, is the higher recoil on the gun. Keep that in mind.

Summary

Considering what you have to go through to get it, you’d think the Vex Mythoclast would be the rockstar of the game. That’s not to say its bad, not by a longshot. As I mentioned, its easily one of the best in Destiny. However, there are still a few guns that can top this one. Keep that in mind.

When I first got this, I used it all the time but I quickly went back to my fatebringer. I have one on each character and i never equip the vex. It would have to be a solar burn week in nightfall for me to use it.
